"It's hard for a graduate to move back home, harder still to be a photographer while living with your mom, but while the cat was away...." Those words would become the concept for My Mom's House, a photo series dreamed of and brought to life by Evan Carter over the course of two years of covert photography. Living with his mother in her 70s modern home, shooting nudes while she was at work, on vacation, and sometimes just out for coffee, Evan struggled to find a balance between nude photography and being a fully credentialed boomerang kid. He found it in a series of 50 unnamed black & white photographs: My Mom's House.

Following a successful Kickstarter pre-sale, a self-published photobook showcasing the full work was printed in July 2016 in a numbered, first edition run of 200 copies. Select prints from the series will be displayed for the first time outside private collections at the artist reception on October 6th (and by appointment) on the walls of RCAM, hung alongside a permanent private collection of iconic Rock 'n' Roll photography. Also at the reception will be first edition copies of the book.
